Wicksteed Medical Centre is a progressive group general practice that has continuously served the local community for over 50 years.
Opening in 1970, Wicksteed Medical Centre was the first purpose built group medical practice in Whanganui. Since that time we strived to remain up to date with all facets of primary health care to provide high quality, appropriate and accessible care that will meet the needs of all our patients.
Our dedicated team of doctors, nurses and administration staff have a wealth of experience and expertise. We are committed to providing quality care to all of our patients in a warm, friendly and comfortable environment.

After Hours
Phone 06 349 1800 to access our afterhours clinical service, seven days per week. Outside of our normal opening hours your call will be answered by a qualified nurse who will advise your best treatment plan.
You may be referred to Practice Plus, our afterhours telehealth provider. Practice Plus online GP appointments are a safe and effective option for many health concerns .
